ALTERNATIVE FREQUENCY FOR CHANNEL 5
Follow these instructions carefully to set up an alternative stronger signal for Channel 5
Press: - Services button
Press: - No. 4 system setup
Press: - No. 4 add channels
Check frequency is highlighted in yellow by using up and down arrow buttons using number buttons. Enter: - 12421
Press: - Down arrow to highlight ‘Polarisation’
Press: - Right arrow so that next polarisation is an H
Press: - Down arrow three times to highlight ‘Find Channels’
Press: - Select
Box will search for new channels then display page ‘New Channels’
Press: - Down arrow to highlight 7505
Press: - Yellow button
Check there is a tick next to 7505
Press: - Select
Press: - Sky button
You have successfully programmed an alternative frequency for viewing Channel 5! This is not available in the normal viewing mode, to view this follow the instructions below.
Press: - Services button
Press: - No. 6 button
(if you are asked for pin number it is normally the last four digits on your card)
Using up and down arrows highlight 7505
Press: - Select
You are now viewing an alternative stronger Channel 5 signal.
There is NO channel or programme information available on this frequency.
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR SKY PLUS/HD SKY PLUS? TRY THIS NEW SYSTEM RESET AND SAVE A SERVICE CALL CHARGE
In the event you receive the message:
“For your information system fault, sky plus playback is unavailable please call 0800.. for assistance” try this system reset.
PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL DELETE ALL SAVED SKY+ RECORDED PROGRAMMES/FILMS
Do the following:
Press Services on your sky plus remote, then select option 4. Next press 0, 1, Select - you should now see the Engineer's Menu. Choose option 8, Full System Reset. The box will now take a few minutes to reset itself.
Try pausing or recording again, and if the problem persists disconnect the digibox from the mains power. Press and hold the 'left' and 'right' navigation buttons on the front of the digibox whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding the buttons in for about 20 seconds, and when the ring of light on the front comes on, press the 'Select' button on the front of the digibox (between the left and right buttons you were holding). The sky plus recording logo lights will spin backwards and, according to the sky engineer, this will "clear the hard drive".
Once this is done, disconnect the digibox from the mains power again and this time press and hold the 'Back Up' button whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding it for about 15 seconds until three lights on the front of the box come on and you get a full-screen message saying "Updating system software. Do not disconnect mains supply or satellite dish."
